Hello, I’m Sean. I recently earned a PhD in planetary science. I study volcanoes and lava flows on the Earth, Mars, etc. But that’s my day job. Originally from Mississippi, I now live in the western US so I traded flat and green for mountainous and brown. I enjoy writing, reading, travelling, cooking, teaching, learning new languages, and binge watching TV shows.
I started blogging during my freshman year in college in order to update my friends, many of whom attended universities out of state, on the happenings in my life. Those blogs were posted on Facebook and designed to engage a limited audience, my friends. I started this website for three reasons: 1) to expand the purpose of my blogs to incorporate advice on life, graduate school, and science; 2) to provide a space where I can share my creative endeavors; and 3) to reach a wider audience (such as graduate students in STEM or people who write for a hobby).
I am expecting the mission of this website to evolve with my interests and the audience. But it will ultimately remain a vessel of creative thought and expression. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or ideas, please feel free to contact me.
